WEDDING.

McCAETHY—MoCA ETH V. A quiet wedding was solemnized at S't. Mary’s Basilica last Wednesday 'morning (says the Southland Times) when Mary, only daughter of Mrs and the late P. McCarthy, Mountaineer Hotel, Queenstown, was married to Mr John McCarthy of Queenstown, and formerly of Bluff. The Eev. Father Marlow performed the ceremony. The bridal frock of white satin beaut© was fashioned on simple lines. The long fitting bodice was cut in points from the neckline, moulding the figure to the -knees, while the skirt fell in Vandykes to the ankles. Her beautiful hand embroidered veil of silk net was arranged in inop cap style and formed a train. She carried a sheaf of crysanthemums. Miss Alice Prendeville acted as bridesmaid, wearing a frock of marigold satin, with a fitting yoke and Vandyke skirt. Short flounces formed the sleeves, and she wore long white gloves. Her hat was of satin to: match her frock and was worn back off the face. She carried a sheaf of chrysanthemums-. Mr John Mills was the best man. The reception was held in the Host of the Brown Ow(, where Mrs McCarthy received her guests, wearing a marocain frock with hat to match. When Mr and Mrs McCarthy left for the north on their honeymoon, the bride was wearing a green repp ensemble, and a green felt hat with ostrich feather, and she carried a musquash coat. Mr and Mrs McCarthy will reside in Queenstown.
