WEDDING.

WALKER—HAMILTONAi the Strand Salon, George street. Dunedin, on March 23, the Rev. li. A. Chisholm, of Palmerston, joined Gertrude Jean Humphrey, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs Janies T. Hamilton, of Arrow-town, and Robert Charles, younger sou of Mr and Mrs James Walker, of Abandon, in the bonds of matrimony. To the strains of the “Wedding March,” and escorted by her father, the bride made her entry attired in a beautiful gown of ivory satin, designed with a long bodice which was moulded to the figure, and flaring at the knee-line into a wide fluted skirt, which fell gracefully in soft folds to the toes of her satin slippers. An unusual feature was the accompanying coatee, which was cleverly cut and fludshed with bands of niching on the horn and neck lines, and also at the base of the -long, tighi(titting sleeves which fell! over the hands in folds. Her circular tulle veil, which was heavily embroidered and fell in a long graceful train, was simply arranged with a bandeau of orange blossom mt the back of the head, and held with tiny clusters of orange blossom over each ear. A string of pearls and a beautiful sheaf of liliura aurativm and maiden hair fern completed an exquisite toilette. She was atte.7id.ed by ’Alls® Doris Pattiuson, of" Wiii-ton, who was charmingly attired in a flame satin gown cut on graceful lines, the oloselymoulded bodice being pointed back and front, while- the usual _ sk?rt, ; which was widely; flared, fell in uneven folds to the floor, and formed' a fish-tail train. The Mght-utting coatee was quaiifTly pointed at the bach, while the close-fitting three-quarter-length sleeves were cut to fall away from the elbow in matching points. A becoming flamellobin Hood felt hat, trimmed “with, a long drooping ostrich leathern, and flame slippers, hose, long 'lace mittens and muff, and a game t dress ring (the gift of the bridegn >om) completed her toilette. Mr E. Ck Baird, of Dunedin, carried out jdio duties of best man. After the ceremony the guests retired to the reception room, where they were received by Mrs James Hamilton and Airs James- Walker. During the reception vocal and elocutionary items were rendered, and afterwards a short dance was held 1 . For going away, the bride wore a chocolate brown bolero frock relieved with fawn satin, and a musquash fur coat (the gift of the bridegroom),- a brown bowler felt hat with ostrich featlp’r garniture, and browip shoes and stockings. Mr and Mrs Walker’s future home will be at Palmerston.
