The final for the season of a series of three competitions for a Cup presented by the Lakes District Acclimatisation Society was held on Thursday evening last. The weather was fine but cold, and the fish were not biting well. Five members of the Club took part, and the following weighed in:—W. Murphy, junr., 2 fish, 41bs; W. H. James 1 fish, 31bs.The highest aggregate in the three competitions was recorded by W. Murphy, junr., with 9 fish weighing 19Hbs; T. Johnston, with 4 fish weighing 6|lbs, was second, and W. H. Janies, with 2 fish weighing olbs, third. Mr Murphy will therefore hold the Cup for the current year.
