No. I said he was from South Africa, and asked for nothing better than the Rhodesian. No. 2 said lie was from America, and kind’er reckoned the American tobacco the best on earth. No. 3 remarked that lie hailed from New Zealand and that the N. Z challenged comparison with any leaf grown. Tastes differ of loouiree. But leading experts agree with the New Zealander. The outstanding merit of New Zealand tobacco is largely owing to the fact that it is toasted—just as coffee and cocoa beans are. Hence its unique flavour and fragrance. Yes: and toasting does more; it absorbs tho poisonous nicotine, thus rendering the tobacco absolutely harmleas. There is no other toasted “weed.” Tho fourbrands manufactured are: Riverhead G old, Navy Cut No. 3, Cavendish and Cut Plug No. 10. Every tobacconist sells those goods, but buyers are cautioned that the popularity of N.Z. tobacco lias caused imitations to get on the market.
