PERSONAL NOTES.

Mrs C. A. Stewart came from Invercargill during the week on holiday. Mrs Norman Hall is visiting Dunedin. Mr Geo. Reid, Glenorchy, was a passenger to Dunedin on Wednesday. Mr Edward Moore, manager of the Bruce Woollen Mill Go., Milton, spent a few days here last week. He was accompanied by Mr Burn of Milton. Miss M. Boyd, Dunedin, is revjsitinsr She is accompanied by her nephew, Mr Allan Boyd. Mr and " Mrs S. M. Macalister of Invercargill and their two children are guests at Hamilton House. Miss lugold of Christchurch and Miss Barbara Stewart of Dunedin are spending a few days together in Queenstown. Mr T. Tomkins, company manager, Green Island, and his wife, are holidaying in Queenstown. They are at “Laurel Bank.” Mr and Mrs H. F. Brown, Dunedin, are among the guests at Hamilton House. L Mr and Mrs J. Haines returned during the week from Auckland, where they went a couple of months ago owing to the continued illness of their daughter, Mrs L. Ott. Mr J. Dolan, exchange clerk in the local Post and Telegraph office, is being transferred to Invercargill, after 5 years’ service here. Mrs Robt. McDowall, who recently underwent an operation at Balclutha for the amputation of her right hand, returned home on Thursday. Her many friends will be pleased to learn that she is considerably improved in general liealth. Mrs P. Mackenzie came from Hyde during the w r eek, and is a guest at Ardmore House, Walter Peak. Mr- J. K .McCarthy, of the Bank of N.Z. at Christchurch, is spending his holiday leave with his mother, Mrs P. McCarthy, Mountaineer Hotel. Mrs Thos. Spiers of Auckland province, who has been on a visit to her sisters, the Misses Robertson, at Franktou, left on her return nortji last Wednesday. She is accompanied by Miss Joan Robertson.
