JUMBLE FAIR NOTES.
On Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday of last week the packing of our district soldiers Christmas boxes was continued in the Red Cross Rooms, by a large committee of ladies. The figures for these days were: Tuesdav, 21 parcels posted; Wednesday. 31,' and Friday ti, so that in all 143 district boys have Deen sent Christmas cheer by their Queenstown friends. Each of these has also been sent by separate post a "Y.M.C.A. Coupon to the value oi ss, accompanying which was a greeting card similar to tne one enclosed in the Xmas parcels. A complete list of the names will lto published in the Mad i' l l ' ,ie course. We understand it is also the intention of the committee to publish a statement of the whole of the expenditure in connection with the parcels scheme. Sueh_ a step is to be commended it wi.l give an account to the public of what became of every penny they subscribed, and will inspire confidence in all the dealings of<jthose responsible for the disbursement of patriotic monies. A meeting of the Jumble Fair Commrttee will be held in the .Red Cross Rooms on Thursday evening next at 7 p.m., to wind up all affairs Connected with the packing, etc.
