MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
Qt'EENSTOWN, OCTOBER 25th. (Before F. J Burgess, Esq., S.M.) Thos. Bell, Inspector of Nuisances y. John Edgar.—Charge, under Police Offences Act, of permitting one cow to be at large in Adelaide street on the 11th October.—Convicted and fined 5s and costs 7s. Simo v. E. L. Anderson.—Similar charge of permitting a cow to be at large in Adelaide street on the 11th October.— Convicted and fined 5s and costs 7s. Same v. Elizabeth McNeil—Similar charge of permitting six cows to be at large in Lake street.—Convicted and fined LOs without costs. SATURDAY, 27th OCTOBER. (Before Messrs C. K. Gudgeon and M. J, Gavin, Js.P. John Harris was charged with supplying one Francis Philp with liquor on the 26th October last, knowing that he was the subject of a prohibition order. Defendant pleaded guilty, but said he was ignorant of the fact that Philp was a prohibited person. Evidence for tbe prosecution was given by Constable Bonner, Catherine Philp and Peter Calaghan. Constable Bonner stated that he had warned defendant some time previously that Philp was a prohibited person. Ddfendant was convicted and fined 30s and costs of court, Hi.
