Fat Cattle.—23B head yarded. Bidding was vary doll throughout, and prices wera fully 15i lowar than those ruling last week. Beat bullocks sold at £7 5a to £8 15s; medium £6 to £7. Best cows and heifara £5 to £6, medium to good £4 to £4 17»6d. Sheep.—lß26 penned, prices ruling la to Is 6d lower than last weak. Best crcubrsd wethers sold at 13a 6d to 15s; medium 12* 3d to 13a 3d. Best ewes 12s to 13s 6d, medium lis to lis 9d ; others 9s to 10s 6d. Lambs.—s4s penned. Competition was very dull and pricaa showed a decline of Is a head compared with those ruling lately. Best lambs sold at 10s to lis fid; medium 9s to 9s 9d. Pigs.—63 forward, mostly suckers and •lips, these meeting with a fair demand at late quotations. Rabbitskiws.—market unchanged. Sheepskins.—Market very firm at late quotationa. Wool. —The second sale of the season takes place on Friday next, 12th instant, and the third sale on Friday, 2nd February. Wheat.—No business doing and market very quiet. Prime milling, 2s 5Jd to 2s 6d ; medium, 2s 3d to 2s sd; fowl wheat, 2s to 2s 2d per bushel (sacks in.) Oats.—There is a good demand at present and all offering is readily placed at following quotationa. Wheat. —Prime samples are the only descriptioivthat have any attention, medium and inferior being neglected. Fowl feed is in good demand, We quote j— Best velvet, 2s 6d to 2s 7<l ; best Tuscan, 2s fid to 2s 7d; red chaff, 2s fid; fowls wheat, 2s 3d to 2s 3d, Oats. The market remains firm at quotations. We have bold prime milling at Is lid to 2a and bright short feed Is lid to 2s, inferior Is 8d to Is IOJd. Barley.—Feed sorts are quoted at Is 9d to 2s; milling, 2s to 2s 6d; malting, 2s 9d to 3s 3d, Ryecorn.— 2s to 2s 6d. Flour:—We quote £6 10s. Oatmeal in 25's, £lO. Pearl barley, £l2. Bran, £3. Pollard, £3los. Kelson hops are quoted at 8d to lid f.o.b. Linseed wanted, £lO, with good enquiry. Chaff.—Heavy arrivals have brought prices down with a run. We quote prime quality, well cut oaten sheaf, £2 15s to £2 17s 6d ; medium, £2 7s 6d to £2 12s 6d. Ryegrass.—The demaud is a little better. Buyers' ideas however »re from say Is 3d to Is 9d for ordinary farmers' lines, and up to 2s for clean lots. Cocksfoot, 3£d to 3Jd for farmers lots, and 4id to 5d for machined. Pressed straw, £1 2s fid. Clover hay, £3 ss. Nitrate of soda, £ls. Potatoes Derwents, from 15s to 20s: medium unsaleable.

Wool.—The first of the locti.l sales will be held on Thursday. Owing to the very broken weather the catalogue will he small. The market is very firm, and prices will be satisfactory to growers. Rabbi taking.—vYe offered a large catalogue this week; competition was very good. Suckers and runners, 3d to 6d ; summer, 6d to9d ; Autumns, 9d to lid ; winters, 15d to 17d per lb.; selected 17id per lb. Sales every Monday. Sheepskins. —We quote: Dry crossbreds Is 9d to 69 6d ; and extra, 7s to 8s ; dry merinos, 2s 3d to 7s 6d; pelts, 6d to Is 9d. We sell every Tuesday. Hides, 4d to 4£d, according to weight and condition, have a sppcial enquiry and can guarantee top market prices. Tallow.—Rough {at, 12s to 13s ; rendered l<Js to IQs, Horsehair, Is 2d to Is 4d. Binder Twine.—We 'have a large stock and can supply same at lowest quotations. Crown Sheep Dip.—The best in the market, price 4s 6d per gallon. We supply rabbit «nd sheep netting, and give spscial quotations by the mile. We have oil cake in stock. We undertake country clearing sales. fRUIT AND PRODUCI REPORT.

Butter.—Our contract is now on. Circular and particulars on application. First grade dairy separator B}d, Second do 7Jd; first gr ade milled 7sd, second do 7d, third do 6d ; first grade dairy 7H second do 7£d ; third do 6d. All f.o.b. Port Chalmers ; cases in.

Cheese.—Good Akaroft,\4d; factory, sd. Pigs.—3d for good qualityvwanted. Beeswax, Is to Is 6d, according to quality. Batter Boxes.—We can supply 561b batter boxes with vegetable parchment lining at 17s per dozen net on tracks here. Victory's Egg preservative, 22s fid per case. Fruit landing by every steamer.
