ARROWTOWN R.M. COURT. April 3rd, 1871.

Patterson v. Graham.—Case struck out, with expenses, 14s. Forbes v. Scoles.—£s 8s —(rroomage fees for attending entire horse, and wages. £2 2s were paid into Court. Mr Ilaughton for defendant. The groomage fees was disputed, on the ground that the mares were the defendant's own property. The plaintiff swore that he had been engaged in Victoria, and that in one case he had received 8s a mare, and only served his master's employers. The defendant deposed that the plaintiff had served him well for six months ; that he had agreed to serve him for a further period, at 25s per week, but that he (defendant) was willing to pay the plaintiff 80s per week for six month more. He denied that the agreement was for all mares, but only for mares that were paid for. Mr Beetham considered the charge unreasonable. —Judgment for amount paid into Court.
Smith v Beattie.— £25 5s Gd, reduced to £20 —Goods supplied by plaintiff, a storekeeper at Twelve-Mile, Arrow. —Verdict for amount, with costs.
Same v. Dwyer. —£21 ISs 9d—Service served only on hut. Fresh summons to issue.
Patterson v. Doran. —£3 18s 9d —Xo appearance of plaintiff. Case struck out. Cavanagh v. Renaud. —Assault —Arising out of a dispute concerning the working of a mining claim as to whether a paddock or a tail race should be worked. Defendant pleaded not guilty.—Fined 40s, and costs.
