[From Otjb Correspondent.] RANGIORA. " Prices and Land Values" was the subject of an address given by Professor 3. B. Condliffe to an audience of about fifty in tho Institute Hall on Friday evening. The mooting waa held under the auspioes of the local branch of the W.E.A. Professor Condliffe answered a number of questions at tho close of his address, and was accorded a hearty vote of thanks. Mr T, W. Ambrose, president of the branch presided. The quarterly summoned meeting of tha Bud of Hope Bruids Lodge waß held on Monday evening, Brother T. Eraser presiding. In response to an appeal for help for a widofr of a late member of the Ivy of Linwood Lodge the sum of £1 Is wee voted from tho Benevotent Fund. The nomination of officers for the ensuing term then took place as follows: Brother T. Fraser, Past A.U.i Brothers W. Ford, A.D.; G-. Grig, V.A.; 0. Rt. Thwaites, secretary; F. Trustrum, treasurer; H. Jones and A. J. Mile*, A.D. Bards; L. Newell, V.A. Bard; and T. Piokard, 1.G.; auditors, Brothers C. Tyler and G. Grig; representative to the Grand Lodge, Brother 1. Eraser; substitute, Brother C. R. Thwaites.
SPRINGS. Tha postponed annual meeting of the Bprings-Ellesmere Electrio Power Board was held on' Saturday. Mr John Cunningham was unanimously elected chairman for the ensuing year. Proposals foT a loan ware submitted and considered. It was agreed to plaoe the proposals before tho public and take a poll during January next.
