MEETINGS OF SOCIETIES.
The half-yearly meeting oi the Ivy oi Mnwood Lodge, No. IS, U.A.O.D. was held in the Orange Hall c fa Monday, A.D. Brother Dickinson presiding over » very large attendance. Correspondence was received from the U.F.S. Council giving information to the agreements entered into between the U.F.S. Council of Canterbury and the Canterbury Division of the British Medical Association. Several maternty allowance claims were passed for payment. One candidate was initiated into tho order, and several were proposed for membership. Sick pay amounting to i£lo 6s 8d was passed for payment. The sum of £35 was donated to assist a brother. A hearty vote of thanks and welcome was extended to the visitors of the evening. The Social Committee report was received. It dealt with the arrangements for the children's Christmas tree party to be held on Wednesday, December 22. .The following are the nominations received for the various offices:—D.P., Brothers Chambers and Oswald; A.D..
