BOY SCOUTS.

(Contributed.) HEADQUARTERS NOTICES. Aocording to the new constitution, registration of troops and patrols must now be effected between October 1, 1920, and September 20, 1921. Troops and patrols registered on or since January 1, 1920, may a obtain badges in tho usual way up to December 31 of this year. Alter that date they must be reregistered, but will only be covered for badge purposes up' to September 30. 1921. Troops and patrols registered since October 1 last will, however, bo covered for purposes up to September SO, 1921."

Registration is effected aa follows: The Scoutmaster fills in the violet registration card, which is addressed to the District Secretary, and is sent on by his office to the Provincial Secretary, find by the latter to Headquarters, Christchurch. The card provides for three patrols forming a troop. If a troop comprises four patrols a second violet registration card is required. For every such patrol a Scoutmaster xvill forward 2s' 6d to the District Secretary, who will retain Is 6d and forward tho card with Is per patrol to Provincial Headquarters, where the Is will be retained for office expenses and the card signed and sent on to Headquarters. At tho same time as this is done. Scoutmasters will oomplete the blue registration card for each patrol in his troop and forward the same through his District Secretary for transmission to Provincial Headquarters to Headquarters at Ohrietchurch After tho troop has been registered, every fresh patrol formed must be registered by completing and forwarding blue individual registration card, together with 2s 6d, to the District Secretary. In such cases th<* Scoutmaster should state that has troop has already been registered.

There are three items of particular interest to districts in the new constitution. In the first place it has been decided that the Chief Examiner of the District is now ex officio a member of the District Committee. In the second place, registered examiners are now eligible to examine in any or every Scout district within the Dominion with the approval of the Provincial Commissioner concerned. Thirdly, in future examiners for the ambulance badge will be required to hold a certificate from tho St John Ambulance Association or other certiiioate of equal value.

In accordance with the resolution passed at the special general meeting of the Council, instructions have been issued to Provmoial Commissioners W arrange for rallies of Scoutmasters and all officers under rank of District Commander. Dr Clinoh, of Auckland Central will arrange for the rally of officers at Auckland from the Scout Provinces of Auckland North, West, Central, East, South and South-east. For the rallv at Palmerston North Sir James Wilson will arrange for the officers of the Scout Provinces fe Taxanaki, Wanganui. Hawke's Bay, North, Central llnd South and Wellington North. For the rally ot Wellington, the Rev J. Feilden-Taylor will arrange for the officers of tho Scout Provmoes of Wellington East and South raUy at kelson, Dr JVS. Congratulations to Scout S. Gibson, of Silverhopo Troop. Hunterville, who is the winner of Miss N. Wilson's gold medal' for the highest «^^ 8C £ 8 in any three matches of the New Zealand Clothing Factory's Challenge Shooting Cup. Scout 'Gibson put up a fine score of 181, with three totafo of G 5, 59 and 57.
