BRITISH ISRAELISM.

to the Editor. Sir,—On behalf of .the Christchurch British-Israel Association, _ I have to thank you for the space given -for the article ujiich appeared in your "Saturday’s issue, under the heading of “ The King’s Descent traced from David: , Finding of the British-Israelites.” The article in question has evoked great ih-

taro* and created much inquiry in this fascinating question. Last July in London were held three CTO at world conferences which mark a special era. They were.the great Lam:beth Conference, when some 260 bishops Of the Anglican Church assembled from all parts of the world. The second was the great Zionist Conference, when there wns a large assemblage of Jewish .representatives; and the third, the sJritish-Israel World-wide Federation Conference, when over 100 delegates gathered from all parts of the British Empire and America. Amongst those present were representatives of royalty, bishops and leading ministers of the Church of England, and other great Christian Churches, doctors of divinity, professors, scientists and other men of culture and education. So you will see that the federation is not a hole-and-corner affair or of small importance. There is a great cry for a union of the. Churches. Bntish-Tsraelism brings all professing Christiana tojeether; no matter what Church doctrine they profess. British-Israel oehel is not n creed or a crochet, but a discovery which discloses the real origin of the British People), which lias hitherto been a puzzle, and shows the perfect harmony between the prophecies of the Bible and the trend of modern history. ~ . , , . Some of the greatest atheists and infidels of the present age. snch as Bradbiugh, Payne. Hume and Holyoak, have stated that the root of their unbelief and scepticism of the Holy •.cnptnres was owing- to the failure of Almighty Cod in fulfilling. His covenants and promises to Israel. Our belief comes in here and proclaims that Cod hap and is now fulfilling His covenant and promises which He swore on His oath to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, in and through the Jews CJndnh), on tho one -part, and the Anglo-Saxon (sons of Isaac) and Celtic nations on the other part, whom we claim are rho renresentatiyes of what are known as the lost ten Tribes. ’ , - In the latter days the two sons or Joseph, Enhraim and Mannsseh. were to come into their birthright. Ephraim who was proclaimed head ot the world, to he u nation and n. company of nations, which we claim to be the British Kmnirc, end Mnnawh. a great pemK whom we claim to he the American'Republic, both great AngloSaxon nations. The proofs of all we claim are abundant and abounding, such a? the fall of Turke (Edom-Esan) and the entrance m and 7ioss*ssion by Oront Britain of the 1 o]y Land (see Obadinh L, l'H8). Tlio Church Service is full of proofs that those -worshipping aro of th** House or Israel, hut blindness is still anon rent nmonn'st manv of its teachers. Wo read that Christ was to be a Sight to lighten -he Gentiles. but to be the glorv of His people Israel- T would ask are the Israel people to whom He is the glorv- ™d has been the glory for the past 2000 years P—l am, etc.,

JOHN R. BRUNT, Hon Secretary, Christchurch BritishIsrael Association.
