Tho t>niuiiue-siiee( showed that tha nnances were in a healthy condition. There was a bank overdraft, but the seat rents and sustentation outatunding totalled £7O IDs. Reports were presented from the following.— Misa Webster (beeston Sunday School), Mr R. Grant ißible Class), Lakeside Sunday School (Miss lialaoiiy), KjiunUiy School, Busy Bees (Miss Mary Derrett). Tho Rev Butler, oonvener of the Presbyterian Communioix, congratulated the meeting upon tho manner in which the reports had been presented and upon the splondid work ol office-bearers. The Rev Ryburn said ho thought the finances of the church and affairs generally were in . a satisfactory state, and made complimentary reference to tho mannor in which tho church properties wcro looked after. The usual votes of thanks were passed, and supper was passed round. SOTJTHBRIDGE CHARGE. Tho annual meeting of tho Southbridge congregational charge was presided over 1 y the Rev T. G. Butler. Tho report of the session was read by Mir A. M'Pherson, who stated that the work of the church had gone on smoothly throughout tho year. Mr W. M. Gabbie presented the committee's report. which stated that the seat rents showed an increase and envelope collections a slisht falling off. Mr N. Thompson read tho bal-ance-sheet, which showed that the finances ■were very sound. Thore was a total income inclusive ot a balance of £35 18s lid. from the previous year, of £720 13s 2d. there boing a credit balance at tho end of the year of £156 4s. A sum of £129 had been spent on improvements to tho church. The buildine fund was in credit to the amount of ovor £2OO. The various reports were read and considered very satisfactory. A heartv voto of- thanks was accorded the Rev Butler nnd Mrs Butler for their good work and to Mr J. Reid for conducting services during: Mr Butler's iUness.
