LONDON, June 16 In tho House of Commons speaking on a resolution authorising the payment of ■ox peases in connection wilh tho Agriculture Bill, Sir A. Boscowon stated that. Cabinet had decided that the maximum prioe foT home-grown wheat ot the 1920 harvest shonld remain at 955, The arrangement that the maximum price for 1921 should be 100 s would be cancelled Farmors would receive for home-grown wheat nn amount equal to the ayerago c.i.f. price of imported wheat of similar or comparable quality. Tho assured guarantee for wheat per quarter was 663 and for oats 40s. Ho could not estimate the probable cost, but tho guarantee was well worth tho cost in the national interest. AMERICAN WINTER CROPS. An increase of 1,030,000 bushels over tho estimate of April 1 is mndo in tho Unitod Statos Department of Agriculture's May 1 estimate of winter wheat production. " A total production of 484,647,000 bushels, a reduction of 287.000,000 as compared with last year, is forecast. The area of winter wheat to be harvested was about 84,165,000 acres, 4,605,000 <icto3 (11.9 per cont) less than the acreage planted last autumn, and 15,740,000 aoros f 33.8 por cont) less than tho ocreage harvested last year, viz. 49,905,00 acre's. The ton-year avera.<ro per cent of abandonment of planted acreage is 11.2. Tho average condition on May 1 was 79.1, compared with 75.6 on April 1. 100.5 on May 1, 1919, and 57.1, the average for the past ten years on May 1. A condition of 79.1 per cent on May 1 is indicative of a yield per acre or approximately 14.1 bushels, assuming average variations to prevail thereafter.
