DUNEDIN, June 14. General Birdwood left for Invercarrill this morning. He was accorded a civic reception on Saturday afternoon, and laid the foundation stone of the Returned Soldiers' Association Ale. raorial Club. He was welcomed by th< Overseas Club, and yesterday visiteQ soldiers in the hospital. INVERCARGILL. June 14. Sir William and Lady Birdwood arrived by tho express this afternoon and were accorded a civic reception in the presence of a largo and enthusiastia crowd. Tho party afterwards motored to places of interest in the district, including the hospital and Convalescent Home, where the General conversed with military patients. Ho was entertained at a "dinner and smoke concert to-night, and will leave for Queenstown to-morrow.
