A Government Bill, introduced in the Chamber of Deputies, proposed the administrative unification of all French railways. It is planned that control shall be exercised by a super-directorate of the Government, the workers and the owners, combined with a common dividend and sinking, fund to make up common losses, and uniform rates on the basis of profit and loss on all linos. STRIKE ’COL LAPSING. (Received May 20, 12.20 a.m.l PARIS, Mai 18. The strikers are returning to work at the railways and ports. Practically all coasting vessels have resumed, and there are several other indications that the strike is collapsing. The Gasworkers’ Union has ordered provincial branches to resume. The failure of the strike is provoking violent discussions in syndicalist circles.
