BOXING COMPETITION.
CIVILIANS v. SAILORS
Several bouts between local boxers and men off the Renown will take placo at the Choral Hall this evening, nnd, as some of the sailors aro reported to bo iirst-class boxers, who have competed at Army and Wavy championship tournaments, "some interesting contests eliould bo witnessed. Colonel Chaffey will act as referee, and the local judges will bo assisted by oiiicors from the Jleaown. It is just possible that the I'rineo of Wales will bo present during the second portion of the programme. The ship's crew boasts a very fine lot or' boxers, and competitions amongst themselves aro held regularly. A small tournament was arranged during the battle-cruiser's stay in Auckland, but there was great disappointment that no programme was provided at Wellington.
