ADDINGTON YARDS. THE, METROPOLITAN MARKET. Thero was a fair attendance at the weekly market at Aldington yesterday. Ilia entries were somewhat lower than last -week, but prices generally wore on s> pa* with thoiw previously realised. STORE SHEEP. There was a small yarding: of stows, and, generally speaking, they were of inferior quality Tho demand for ©wee was fair, and for lambs and good-olaas wethera was good. PAT SHEEP. There was a yarding of ten races, compared to seven last week. A good deal of light and unfinished mutton was forward, but there was also a g'ood showing of prime quality. Butchers operated keenly for the better quality stuff, which sold at full recent market rates. One pen of nine owes, forwarded by Mr G. Thomson (Darfield), a particularly hoary lot, brought 61s. For medium owes and lighter sorts generally the market was lower than at preceding sales. Freezing buyers operated to a small extent. Towards the end of tho market, which was conducted in semi-darkness, a race of lata entries was sold, and there was a decided pruning in prices for all classes. The range of values was as under:— Extra prime wethers, 46s 6d to Ills. Prim 9 wethers, 38s 6d to 435. Medium wethers, 32s Od to 37s Bd. Lighter wethers, 80s Sd to 32s 3<i. Extra prime ewes, 42s 3d to 61s. Prime ewea, 3Gs to 41b 9d. Medium ewes, 30s to 31s 3d. Lighter ewes, 20s 2d to 2,0 s 6d.

FAT LAMBS Tho yarding was similar in sizo te last v . oe k about 2000, which included a. big proportion of light «orts. These brought low prices. Included in the entry, ■ however, ■was a lino of o£ exceptional quality, forwarded by Mr G. M'Bean, Springston, which s«Sised from 38s to 54s 6d, the latter price for three. Fully 200 realms were penned, much raor* than the market could absorb, ae owing to the freezing works closing down for a few days only graziers could handle the eurplus \ aluea were: Runners to £6 15s. Good veal era £5 15s to £6 ss. Medium vealers £2 7s 6d to £2 17s 6d. Small calves 8a 6d to 37s 6d. PIGS: A medium ontry of fat pigs wm forward, and the demand was a little bettor thnu for some timo. Values were:— Choppers £6 to £l4. Light baconera £5 to £5 15s. Extra heavy baconore £8 to £3 8s 6d. Heavy baooners £0 10s to £7 10s. Average prico per lb, lOd. Heavy porkers £3 15a to £4 10s. Light porkers £2 15s to £3 10s. Average price per lb, lOd to 10j)d. A email entry of store- pigs was offered, mostly of small description. The demand was better than nt recent sales. Values were: Large stores £2 18s to £3 10a. Small stores £2 to £2 8s 6d. Weaners 9s 6d to 21s.
