A letter was received from the president of the Hoard, of Agriculture with regard to the shortage of shipping and the position oi the moat export uitiustry taat it had boefc decided to hold a oonierence of representatives of Agricultural and Pastoral Associations, Farmers' Unions, Sneopownors' Federations, Freezing and Dairy Companies, aibo any otiier delegates the .Prime Minister and the Minister of Agriculture desired to invite. The letter further stated that the Prime Minister bad already arranged to obtain information from the shipping companies concerned to lay before the conference. The Prime Minister had also suggested that a commission should be tent to England. It 'was decided to oall a meeting of d4letgates of the other bodies interested to consider the board's letter, the ineefing to bo hold next Wednesday. Messrs J. D. Hall and R. E.- Alexander were appointed the association's delegates. Tho balance-sheet was discussed, and it waß resolved to present; it at tho annual meeting, to be held on March 25. The Progress League wrote concerning the East and "Weßt Coast railway, and requested that the association assist in urging upon the Minister of Public Works tho importance of bringing the wotV to completion as early as possible. It was decidfed that ft telegram be cTTßpatcned to tho Minister.
