PROFITEERING.

LOCAL TRIBUNAL. The first meeting of the Profiteering Tribunal was held yesterday, and took the form of a conference with Air W. G. M'Donald,' chairman of the Board of Trade, on the general outline of the procedure to be adopted by the Tribunal. Mr O. P. Agar was elected chairman, and Air G. H. Christie, late auditor Imperial Supplies Department, acting-secretary. . The Tribunal will commence operations as soon as arrangements can be made with regard to securing suitable premises for offices, it is proposed to hold meetings on Monday and Wednesday afternoons, and on Friday evenings for the convenience of persons who are unable to he present during the day sessions. The date of commencement and the place of meeting will be advertised shortly.
