Standing handily near the Wliakatane police station this morning, the chief constable’s motor-car attracted the attention of two prisoners -working in tho grounds while the constable was busy inside as Clerk of the Coprt: They seated themselves in the car and vanished. When they and the car Were missed, later, the telephone! was set working, and tlio runaways wore located speeding to Te Puke. ' 'The assistant constable is now in pursuit.
