AMBULANCE WEEK.

THE FINAL DAT. Tn-day is the final day of Ambulance Week, and an appeal is to be made in the streets of Christchurch, -in which a collection and sales of badges, produce, flowers, etc., will form prominent parts. At ,n meeting of the Ambulance Week Committee, held last evening, the secretary reported that arrangements for the various stalls were well in hand. These would be erected in Victoria Square, and a very attractive lot of godds would be on sale.** The cake stall would be in charge of officers of the Nursing Divisions, who would offer for sale home-made cakes and preserves in plenty. Lady Heaton Rhodes and Mrs A. E. G. Rhodes would be at the head of a bevy of helpers who would sell cut flowers and pot plants of choice varieties. Prime Canterbury mutton and ox beef would be in evidence at another stall, in charge of the managers of the late Red Cross shop, while members of the Canterbury Automobile Association, with their accustomed zeal, would be in charge of produce. A variety stall would be run by members of the Nursing Divisions of the Brigade, and the variety of knick-knacks and articles of everyday use, which people could not do without, were too numerous to particularise. Mrs Griffith would have charge of a fairy well for the children, and at number of welcome surprises would be in store for those who trusted their luck to the fairies. An ice cream stall had also been arranged. . Members of the Ambulance Brigade reported that £4O had been realised by a jumble sale held in St John s Schoolroom 1 on Saturday.
