RAILWAY BILL.
MORE PROTESTS. [Pkb Press Association.] INVERCARGILL, October 23-. The Southland branch of the Engineers, Firemen, and Cleaners’ Association resolved to strongly protest against the absence of provision to improve the position of locomotive men, and demand the elimination of a special grade of engineers, failing which the executive should take definite Eteps to carry out the mandate of the recent ballot. Strong exception was taken to the attempt of the General Manager to invest "himself with autocratic powers, which would mean that the'Classification Act would become a dead letter.
