In the challenge round at Wimbledon Patterson'beat Brookes 6-3, 7-5, 6-2. The first and second sets of the world s championship were evenly contested, both playing a safe game. Brookes opened well in the third set, but seemed to tire. Patterson rose to top form and ran out an easy winner. .
