BLENHEIM, July 8. The first meeting of the South Island Main Trunk Railway League, comprising a convention of all local bodies in Marlborough, considered the best means of furthering and pushing forward the South Island Main Trunk line. A delegation from the Chamber of Commerce attended. After full discussion, it was decided to adjourn the meeting pending a conference betweer the presidents of the League and tk< Picton and Marlborough Chambers o: Commerce, to formulate and bring, do wi a set of proposals for a combination a forces to push the matter on
