BOARDING-HOUSE BURNED.

NARROW ESCAPE OF INMATES.

[Per Press Association.] TAUMARUNUI, July 7. Beaumomt’a . two-storey boardinghouse at Owhango was destroyed by fire at three o’clock on Sunday morning. The inmates had a narrow escape, getting out in their nightclothes. Some of them jumped from a balcony. A woman and two children just escaped with their lives. The building was insured for £IOOO, but the furniture was not insured. Nothing was saved. The fire started in the kitchen.
