Up to Monday <5595 cases were reported in the metropolitan area and 2113 in the country. Since Saturday there have been over forty deaths, including nine in the country. SYDNEY, June 4. The influenza position is again less reassuring. Over a hundred new cases and seven deaths occurred in the metropolitan area to-day. In several of tho country centres the epidemic shows an increasing tendency. Precautions are being readopted, in country districts against the spread of the disease.
