ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
MOTOR AND TRATN COLLIDE. [Per Press Association.] DANNEVIRKE, Juno 4. . A miraculous escape from a fatal accident occurred this morning at tho Allardico Street crossing, when a mo-tor-car, driven by Mrs Fisher, of Torunga, collided with a train- Mrs Fisher was the only occupant of tho car, and she was thrown to the front part, the cushion, with her on it, being then caught by the cowcatcher of the engine and carried about a hundred yards, till the train was pulled up. Mrs Fishor sustained bruises, and is suffering from shock. The motor-oar was smashed to splinters. BRAKE INSPECTOR INJURED. [Per Press Arsociation.3 PALMERSTON NORTH, Juno 4. Justin Ronayne, a brake inspector on the railways, was walking along the line nenr Pnlmerßton station last evening when he was overtaken by the second Auckland express, which threw him off the line, breaking one leg and fracturing a rib. He was taken to t.he hospital, where he is progressing satisfactorily.
