[Feb Press Association.] AUCKLAND, April 4 Three new cases of inflnenza were landed from the Niagara at Motuihi yesterday afternoon. No information is available as to when the mails can. be distributed. The names of patients suffering from influenza from the Niagara are as follows : Passengers—Mr J. M. Hardie, of Sydney; Mrs J. Hutson and two children, of Auckland, Mrs Stone, of Sydney. Crew—Messrs F. Ardai, R. Blackman, W. A- Brown, W. Coates, J» Davidson, F. W. Drew, J. Erskine, W. G. Gay, W. Glover, O. Istegrano, E L. Matthews, W. Mooney, A. R< M’Kay, P. O’Brien, J- Pritchard, RC Prouso, A. Rolfe, O- G- Travers,. J- Vivian, W. Wilson. STATEMENT BY MAJOR PETTITT, [Per Press Association.] AUCKLAND, April 4. There are now twenty-five patient* suffering from influenza at the quarantine station at Motuihi under Major Pettitt, who stated to-night that four of these were serious cases, with pneumonic complicationr and the remainder were ordinary influenza cases whose condition was satisfactory. Of the patients now under treatment nineteen were landed from the Niagara in the . first instance. Two contacts subsequently developed the disease and three more patients were landed from the Niagara to-day. The mails will be fumigated and landed to-morrow.
