ADDINGTON METHODIST CHURCH.
The circuit quarterly meeting of the Addington Methodist Church was held in the Clarence Road Church on Wednesday evening, when the Rev T. W. Vealie presided.over a good attendance of officers. Sunday School and Young People’s reports were encouraging. The balance sheet disclosed a credit of over £l4. On the presentation of the report covering the refurnishing scheme, a vote of thanks was passed to all who had assisted to secure the satisfactory results obtained- In connection with conference remits,. Air W- T. Burley was appointed circuit mission secretary, in addition to a 6trong committee representative of all the churches. Sir H. K. Bowden was appointed Sunday school visitor. Air Burley, delegate to conference briefly reported on the salient features, and particular reference was made to local matters. Votes of thanks were passed to the Revs T. W. Vealie .and W. Harris, who are retiring from the circuit, and a suitable resolution was carried unanimously expressive of appreciation of. their untiring labours during their stay in the circuit. Sunday school anniversary services in connection with the Addington Alethodist Church were held on Sunday, when large congregations assembled. Appropriate addresses were delivered in the morning bv the Rev G. E. Aloore, and in the afternoon and evening by Rev T. W. Vealie, who taking the opportunity of his concluding service before proceeding to a new circuit, made a special appeal to parents on behalf of the children. On Tuesday ftho arinual tea meeting was he la, followed by the public meeting, conducted by the Rev 1. W. \ ealie. In addition to the presentation of reports, and distribution of prizes, tno children rondered suitable vocal and elocutionary items and also repeated many of the special anniversary hymns A feature of the meeting was the recitations by very small children. . Air J- Id. Jones conducted the singing, ana Miss Louie Burns and Air E. Fehsenfeld presided at the piano and organ respectively. The singing of the National Anthem concluded a most successful and happy gathering.
