VIGOROUS DENUNCIATION BY IRISH SECRETARY. '• “ TERRORISTS AND ASSASSINS.” By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright A. and N.Z. Cable Association and Pouter. (Received April 5, 1.10 a.m.) 9 LONDON, April 4. Mr J. I. Macpherson, Chief Secretary for Ireland, in the Houso of Commons said that political unrest in Ireland was unabated and was accompanied by tho cruellest outrages. Ho was determined to support the constabulary and military to protect law-abiding citizens against the terrorists and assassins from whom ono of the most prosperous countries of the world must be freed. Sinn Feinism menaced progress, alienated sympathy, produced and maintained a deadlock and stifled industries and social development. Th° application of solf J ciotcrmination would mean the establishment of a Sinn Tein republic in tho rankest form, iiio present conditions prevented the Government from exploring the practical paths in order to secure' a generous settlement of problems which were never mors pressing.
