Tho far.eral of the late Lieutenant W. J. Sullivan left St Joseph's Church, Lyttelton, on Tuesday, for the Catholic Cemetery. The hearse was preceded by a firing party from the Royal New Zealand Artillery, followed by the Lyttelton Coastal Defence Band, of which tho late Lieutenant Sullivan was bandmaster. Tho pall-bearers wero Messrs T. Harkcss. E. Wendelborn, S. D. Wight and H. Harbutt. The band played the Funeral March,'"The Garland of Flowers." Father Cooney conducted the funeral service. Among those present were Colonel C. J. Cooper, Captain M'Donald, Lieutenant J. It. Anderson, Lieutenant It. D. lies, Messrs T. Tankard, E. C. Derrv, W. Ellis, T. Dix, W. T. Lester and L- A.
