AT PAHIATUA.
[Per Press Association.] PAHIATUA, November 22. .The. epidemic ,is now on the wane. The country districts are still severely affected, especially the dairy industry, In places whole families are down. Magnificent work is being done hy voluntary helpers. An emergency hospital has been successfully established l by a citizens' committee. Five deaths have occurred, . and there • are five very serious . eases at present. There Rre nearly 300 cases in the district and town. The shops have been shut down since Monday. ON THE WEST COAST. (Per Press j Asoocutioit,] HOEITIKA," November 22. Two deaths from influenza occurred yesterday, and five patients are dangerously ill. Several cases were reported to-day," and continual calls are coming from the country for medical aid.
AMBULANCE TRAIN ON OTIRA LINE. [Per Press Association.]
GREYMOUTH, November 22
There are eighty-four cases at the hospital, and there were two deaths during tho. night. Further, cases are coming in. "
The Otira line ambulance train, with Dr Telford, nurses and other workers, is visiting all the. towns along the Otira line, collecting cases. There is an improvement in the town, but.not in the country districts. A relief fund has been established at tho newspaper offices.
