NAVY LEAGUE WAR FUND APPEAL.

For the men of the British Navy and the merchantmen attached and their dependents. AFTER THE WAR, and for years to come, THERE WILL BE MANY BEREAVED HOMES THROUGHOUT THE BRITISH ISLES. Amidst the rejoicing on the proclamation of peace these may be forgotten.

NEVER LET IT BE SAID THAT THE PEOPLE OF THIS DOMINION FORGOT THEIR DUTY to the dependents of the gallant men who saved them from the unspeakable horrors that happened in JJelgium and Northern France.

Surely, AFTER THE PROTECTION WE HAVE RECEIVED FROM THE BRITISH NAVY, towards which New Zealand has paid infinitely little, it behoves everyono to contribute to this worthy fund. IS ANY PRICE TOO GREAT TO PAY FOR THE IMMUNITY FROM ATTACK AND LOSS OF OUR COMMERCE?

Undoubtedly we shall never repay our obligations in full, but we can, to the best of our ability, help to make the lives of the widows and children of ■naval men lost during the war as happy and comfortable as possible. The fund is administered by a responsible and representative committee in London, and donations sent to the office of tho ISiavy League, 119. Worcester Street, Christchurch, will be gratefully acknowledged. ALEX. BOYLE, President.
