SCHOOL COMMITTEES.

The monthly mooting of th© Efmwood School Committee was held on Monday, Mr W. Jonca presiding. Mr Frasor reported that the timber for tho garden fences was procurable, and it was decided to have them erected at once. Mr Jones donated three Bhady trees for tho girls' play ground. It was decided to have the garden in the school grounds and in tho caretaker's grounds attended to immediately. Tho deputation to the Education Board reported that thoy had been successful in obtaining a grant of £l4O towards the oost of levelling and grading the school grounds. Miss Lockwood had been appointed assistant mistress. The Visiting Committee reported on the state of the fireplaces in the new buildings, and it was decided to have them remodelled. Tho trees having been topped it was decided to have all tho wood sawn and stored for fuel.
