WESTERN FRONT.' North of the Scarpe the British took Arleux en Gohelle, and between the Scarpe and the Sensee the Canadians captured Vis en Artois, in the Hindenburg line. They also took Cherisy, on the Sensee, and reached Ecoust St Mein. Eurther south the British reached Beunagtre, north-east of Bapaume. North of the Somme there has been heavy fighting for Longueval and Delville Wood, and on the river the Australians reached Fargny. It is reported that their patrols are seven miles from Peronne. The French took Roye and Crapeaumesnil.
