THRESHING RETURNS. , Returns of actual threshings received to'May 15 from threshing mill owners, which are published in the Monthly Abstract of Statistics, show that 4,436,365 bushels of wheat and 3,0?9,118 bushels of oats have been threshed out. The average yields per acre in oases where particulars of areas were furnished work out at 26.11 bushels for wheat and 33.02 bushels for oats. A table is appended showing, by land districts, the quantity of wheat and oats threshed and the yield per acre in each case;—

NEW SOUTH WALES HARVEST. [ ."Mr: J. B. Trivett, Government Statistician in New Suoth Wales, has forwarded to this offioe returns of the wheat harvest in his State for the 191718 season. The total production of wheat amounted to 37,843,930 bushels, or, 11.71 bushels per acre Of that quantity 82,920,611 bushels already have been pooled. The balance has been retained for eeed purposes, has been destroyed or has been otherwise handled by farmers. The total area that failed completely or was fed off was 167,100 acres, mostly in the Western Slopes, the Riverina and the Central Plains. The total production increased by 1,245,000 bushols, 2.10 bushels per acre. Tho greatest production was in the Western Slopes, where the ..total was 16,516,870 bushels, or 30.87 bushels per aero, the Riverina coming next with 14,143,370 bushels, or 12.61 per acre; tho coastal division, with 923,690 bushels, or 11.95 per acre, and the". Western • Plains, with 21,630 bushels, or 8.10 per acre. During the same year the State produced 475,300 tons of hay, 338,468 tons less than in the previous year. iThe returns from several important districts are still outstanding, but these figures are sufficient to indicate the position in the State.
