CRECHE AND KINDERGARTEN ASSOCIATION.
The first meeting for 1918 of the Creche and Kindergarten Association was hold at the Y.M.C.A. last week. Mrs Taylor reported on the work oi the sub-committee in correction with the arran"ements regarding a section of land, and the° committee's visit of inspection to the open-air school in course of erection for bt Saviour's. The plan of the school. had mot with the approval of the wholo committee, tut business in connection with the land and school could not bo complete until more definite information was received from the Government Deportment Applications to becomo probationer teao.l- - in tho Free Kindergarten Schools were received from Misses Farrally, Lusoombe and Montgomery. Tho -applications were accepted and the secretary was instructed to write sn'd make the necessary arrangements. Miss Hood's resignation was accepted. The reports from tho three schools were read and adopted. The attendances were as follow:—-Sydenham, November roll 54, average 18; Philliostown,' November roll C2, average 50; Sunboam, November roll 40, average 23.7; December roll 40, December average two weeks, 33.1. The mothers' subscriptions were as follow: —Sunbeam £2 17s 6d, Sydenham £1 3s 2Jd, Philhpstowu i'2a 9id; total, i'G 13s 9d. Ths annual report wa3 passed, and tae secretary was instructed to obtain printed copies. Mrs Taylor stated that owing- to ill-health she would be forced to resign her position as president «t the end of six months. Tho honor try seareta.ry'3 resignation was recited.
