RETAIL PRICE OF WOOL.
The following resolution was unanimously passed at a meeting of the Canterbury Retail Drapers and Clothiers' Association, held on Friday last :
" That this meeting of the Canterbury Retail Drapers' Association inform Mr H. G. Ell, M.P.. that the statement appearing in the •' Lyttelton Times' of September 30, viz., that Mr Ell asked the Minister of Supplies and Munitions if he could ' assist the women of New Zealand to obtain wooli for patriotic knitting at a reasonable price, instead of the scandalous rates charged by retailers,' has been duly noted. We regret that Mr Ell did not make himself acquainted with the facts of the case before he made such a serious reflection on the retailers, which is as mischievous as it is incorrect; but believing he has no wish to do them any 'injustice, we wish to invifie him to make the fullest inquiries, and offer him any assistance we can render to find out the truth of the position, when we trust he will correct the statement made in as public a manner as possible."
