AFTERNOON SITTING. The Council met at 2.30 p.m SIR HENRY MILLER.
Sir Francis Bell gave notice to move that the Council express deep regret at. the retirement of Sir H. Miller, after forty years’ service in the Council. “ HANSARD.” . The Joint Printing and Reporting Debates Committee reported recommending the curtailment of “ Hansard.” The dobnte on the report will be taken on Wednesday. THE SPEAKER. Sir Francis 801 l announced that the Speaker (the lion G. Johnston) had left the ftominion under urgent medical orders to receive special treatment abroad. Tho Hon W. C. F. Cameross, who had been reappointed chairman of committees, was appointed Acting-Speaker, and tho Hon 0. Samuel acting-chair-man of committee?. A motion was passed expressing the desire of the Council that the Speaker should return fully restored to health. Tile Council adjourned at 3.5 p.m.
