Referring to tho series of peace basis articles on November 20, Lord Northcliffe has wirelessed a lottor to, the " New York Times," in which ho says that the suggestion that. Britain should consider peace can only be regarded as hostile. Our citizen army is only now ready for war. There will be uo peace discussion in this country, and will not be any while Germany occupies any Allied territory. THE SUBMARINES. GERMANY'S CONTENTIONS. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received November 25, 1.30 a.m.) NEW YORK, November 24. Washington correspondents emphasise the serious situation of the submarine question, and express the opinion that Germany will contend that armed merchantmen are not immune from attacks without warning. The United States will reject the contention.
