STEAMER ASHORE.

WHAN,GAPE ON REEF AT FLU. [Pra Pbess Association.] AUCKLAND, September 29. A cable message from Suva., Fiji, reports that the Union Steam Ship Company's steamer Whangapo is ashore on tho Ba reef. Sho i% not damaged, and is lightering cargo. The Whangapo is a well-known steamer of the Union Company’s fleet. She is of 2931 tons gross register, and was built at Middlesborough in 19C0. Her dimensions are:—Length, 320 ft: breadth, 44ft Bin; depth, 23ft 3in. For some time past tho Whangapo has been engaged in the Now Zealand-Suva-San Francisco trade. Captain Frew is in command.
