Tho entries total 270, including ! eight dialogues, and good and varied programmes have • been . arranged for each evening. The Mayor will perform the opening ceremony on Monday evening at half-past seven. The j udges aro as follow Vocal and instrumental, Mrs W. H. Ford and Mr A. M. Owen; elocution, Mr R. Malcolm, Revs A. T. Thompson- and P. Knight; action songs, Mrs H. Cole; , hoop and scarf drill, Miss A; J. Monzies; dumb-bells and clubs, Mr>Morri- , son;'violin, Mr A. Dickinson; reading at sight, ltev J. Cocker ; dialogdp : (see-. lion I.) and tableaux, Mfs Langford; diatogue (section II.), Rev P. Knight. Demonstration programmes by"'first prize winners will bo given on October 7 and October 14, and the prizes wilt bo presented on the latter night. Seats •may be reserved at tho hall or at L. M.
