LARGEST AUSTRALASIAN x . PARADE. (Received September 28, 7 p.m.) . LONDON, September 28. The King reviewed the Australians and New Zealanders on Salisbury Plains. It was the largest body of Australasians ever paraded in England.

THE KING’S SPEECH. (Received September 28, 10.35 p.m.) LONDON, September 28.

Despite the secrecy associated with tho King’s movements, largo crowds of spectators awaited the arrival of tlio Royal train at Bulford. The King, accompanied by his staff, inspected the guard of honour and proceeded to the parade ground. Thousands of troops were drawn up for the goneral salute. The King first inspected the wounded. His Majesty inquired concerning their comfort and assured himself that they wero lacking nothing. He next rode round tho lines of the forces, which included complete units of infantry, artillery, Light Horse, divisional trains and engineers, marched evenly, their bearing being equal to that of veterans. Imperial officers were greatly impressed.’ The King saluted every officer punctiliously, and while the respective commands _ were passing inquired as to the identity of every company. . . At the conclusion of the review his Majesty desired to speak to the officers. Fifty were presented- to the King. Before leaving ho expressed his pleasure at inspecting such a largo body of Australia’s and New Zealand’s best men. He had noted the steadiness of all the units, indicating a high standard of training, and was greatly impressed by their fine physique and soldierly bearing. His Majesty concluded: ‘‘They are a fine body of men.”
