CITIZENS’ CRUSADE.
PROPOSED ASSAULT OX- SOCIAL EVILS. /J
A movement has been begun to carry on a citizens’ c.Msado in Christchurch against social evils- The idea originfated with Air L. Ai. Isitt, ALP., and a number of citizens have agTeed to take part in the crusade. Details have not been arranged at present, but the proposal,. roughly, is that it should be begun at the end of October. One of tho suggestions is that on the last Sunday in that month sermons should bo preached in all the churches ot the citv dealing with questions of public morality, and that, in the following week, a public meeting to discuss these questions should be held every night. The promoters of the movement hope that it will spread to all other parts of the Dominion, and that there will be united expressions of opinion.
