MEETINGS OF SOCIETIES.

The thirty-fifth anniversary celebrations of tho Sydenham Baptist. Sunday School were brought-tc- a conclusion on Tuesday evening by a public tea and concert. A feature of the evening was the singing of the scholars under the conductcrship of Mr R- Jenkins. Recitations wero given by Misses Doris and Gladys Mathews, Mavis Peacock and Mas tor Bertie Towart, vocal solos by -Missel Mavis and Joyce Peacock, a violin solo by Miss Gladys Vincent, vocal duet by Misses Gladys Bowden and Clara- Pauli. The an nual "distribution of prizes took place durinj the evening, the first prize winners being Master Inn Willoughby and Misses Olivo Carter and Mavis Peacock. There was a good attendance in tho Sydenham Methodist Schoolroom c n Monday evening, when tho Sydenham TTnited 'Band of Hope held its monthly meeting A long nroerammo of. vocal find instrumental so lev and duets, hoop drill, recitations and action songs and two dialogues was gone through, and tho president, Mr W. Bartlett, delivered an address.
