EAST CHRISTCHURCH CLUB
The adjourned .annual meeting of the East Christchurch Cricket Chib was held on Tuesday evening, Mr R. B. Ward presiding. • The meeting resolved itself into a discussion of ways and means for .tiding the club over the present difficult times. It was mentioned that as 60 per cent of members had enlisted, ihe financial position of tho club was precarious, and the club felt it had the right to appeal to residents of the- district for assistance. - The liabilities were about £4O.
It was decided to open subscription lists in order to make an effort to get the liabilities 'cleared off before the season opened. Mr C. 'S. Ward was fleeted, honorary secretary, -and Mr 0, J.. Atkinson.; honorary treasurer.
It was resolved to arrange an opening game on October 7 to enable the club to assess its .playing strength.
BOYS' GORDON HALL CLUB,
Tho annual meeting of tho Boys’ Gordon Hall Cricket Club was held last night. There was a largo- attendance. Mr H. Yernazoni presided. The report and'balance-sheet wore adopted.
