PERSONAL NOTES. Captain Jolm L. Turnbull, wounded, is a son of Mr A. H. 'Humbull, I;etadalton. He was educated at Christ s College, and on leaving school entered the business of his father, A. H. lu - bull and Co. He took a keen interest in military work and was staff officer and camp adjutant to LieutenantColonel G. J. Smith at the camps of the Alain Expeditionary I orco at Addington and Scckburn. He obtained his commission, and went to the trout with the New Zealand Rifle Bugade. Rifleman David James Irving, who was reported killed in action on September 12, was the eldest sou of Air and Airs D. J. Irving, of Allenton, Ashburton. He left with the Ninth Reinforcements and was nineteen years of a op. His father is at present in camp and will leave with the Nineteenth Reinforcements.

Cable advieo was received in Dunedin yesterday of the death in action of Lieutenant Frank Bernard Williams. He was a son of Air R. Bernard Williams, manager of the stores department of the Union Company. Sergeant Dougan, of the Port Chalmers police, received word yesterday that his son, Private Norman D. Dougan, who went away in the Ninth Reinforcements, was wounded on September 15. Private Dougan is an electrician and’ was keeping telephone connection with the front trenches. Councillor Isbister, of Port Chalmers, received information yesterday that his only son, Corporal Isbister, had died of wounds.

Private Bertram Stephen Lambert, who was killed in action in Fiance on September 13, was twenty-four years of ago and was a son of Mr Stephen Lambert, Bridlo Path, Lyttelton. Ho left New Zealand with the Eleventh Reinforcements, ns second lieutenant of the Second Battalion, New Zealand Rifle Brigade. Another son of Air C. B. Alorris, Liehtenant John C. Alorris, of the 121st Sikhs, who enlisted with the North Australian Forces in Brisbane, and was recommended for a coinmission in Egypt, is reported in hospital at Bombay, with enteric fever. A grandson of Air C. B. Morris, Lieutenant Charles C. Morn's, is a lieutenant in the Atadras Light Cavalry.
