STEAMER ASHORE.

[Pee Press Association.] AUCKLAND, September 27. Advice was received this morning that the steamer Albany had drifted ashore near Muriwai Creek, on the west coast, about twenty miles north of Manukau. She is a small.vessel, and is well-known in Auckland, haying been engaged for some time in the AucklandAlbauy, trade. The steamer was proceeding to Tuakau, Waikato, and her engines were giving trouble for some time. It is stated that they broke down and the Albany drifted to the shore. It is thought that she has not been damaged.
